I wrote this song early in the summer and the title is terrible. I think the story is pretty nice though, and somewhat self-explanatory. I think this is one of the best songs I wrote at the time. Like the last lines of the verses of "Every Step" and "(so) Far Away) the bridge of "The Living Corpses" and the third verse of this one ends on a similar note(lyrically speaking) and the bottom line is that the world doesn't stop.
lyrics
Icewear
Verse 1
The temperature is low
The time is going slow
Freezing on my teeth
And I can't move my feet
Stuck between the present and the past
And pulse is going way too fast
My boots are frozen in my mouth
None of the words come out
but
Chorus
The world is still spinning around
Like it did back then
I fell to the ground
But you brought me up again
When were you here?
I don't know
But you were there
And that's what matters now
Verse 2
I had some cocoa, I drank it
I really needed a blanket
Some snow was starting to melt
I could see it from my tent
That's when I saw you there
with your shiny hair
You took all the pain away
But I still I had nothing to say
but
Verse 3
I finally got to say "hi"
I could look up to the sky
I could feel my pants
I could feel you were holding my hands
Was it a dream or just a wish?
My mind isn't clear, but I can recall a kiss
I was down, you brought me up
And in that moment, I thought the world would stop
