I wanted to do a jangly Byrds-esque song, but when i saw a Miles Davies documentary I got the idea of doing an avant-garde Jazz bridge improvized, so I did that.
lyrics
Wheel of Repitition
Early morning the wheel starts turning
And it doesn't end when the midnight oil is burning
The teacher needs a place to learn in
And the pupils get to make the big decision
And nothing can stop this wheel
It might not be a very big deal
It's just the wheel of repitition
The wheel of repitition
The workaday world goes by
You are on a mission
But it's just one big lie
You can sign a petition
But it'll just be pretend
The wheel of repitition
Is something you can't end
(is never gonna end)
The fishers with fat fingers expect a finish
A thought that will make any other thought diminish
A powerful message, but a disturbing image
A dream that is reaching fruition
If you find someone you care about
And know all their whereabouts
You'll see the wheel of repitition
Far away some bells of joy are ringing
At a graveyard outside a fat lady is singing
No one knows to what we are clinging
We put money in the well, but forgot what we were wishing
The crisis is immediate
but you're still just intermediate
watching the wheel of repitition
