Song that Should've Been in the Lion King

about

I wrote the lyrics to this song on the light rail to work while I was reading How to Be Good by Nick Hornby and a part of me got to me, no matter how fortunate we are we anticipate death, either our own or others', and I wrote the second pre-chorus and i realized I had written yet another gloomy song, so I figured the rest of the song had to be yollier and then I thought of the Lion King and "The Circle of Life" , wrote the song and got back to my book.

lyrics

Song That Should Have Been in the Lion King

Verse 1

I once heard about the circle of life
About birds and bees and how insects breed
And got to know about the plants and forests
That could start with one single seed

We live and die we get born and give birth
We start wars we sign treaties of peace
And once I learned this
I went out and started planting trees

PC

We all start up in diaper
We might end up in diaper too
And a mother's baby
Who used to be wiped, maybe
At some point have to wipe her too

Chorus

Because what goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
It's all in idioms and clichés
When someone starts to cry
And we don't see eye to eye
We sympathize and pity them and walk away

Verse 2

When we're young we seem invincible
And immortal but we soon find out we're not
And a tree can live for hundreds of years
But its apples are gonna have to rot

PC

We all start in cradle
We all end in tomb
And nothing life gave us
Is able to save us
From impending doom
