Inspired by a movie and Corona, I guess. It's not an explicit song about the pandemic, but I think it bears undertones about having to postpone everything to next year, but I guess it's trying to be positive about it. 2021's "We'll Meet Again".
lyrics
Same Time, Next Year
It was December 31st last year
and I remember it was so much worse that year
We celebrate we sing Auld Lang Syne
ambivalently saying "everything will be fine"
I got a new solicitor
to treat my legal mess
but I couldn't visit her
We'll reschedule, I guess
Same time next year
We'll meet again
Same time next year
We'll do it different then
Same time next year
it's been an awful one
Same time next year
we'll be so happy when it's done
A nuclear reactor in me went amok
A significant factor, my own doomsday clock
Ironic infatutation on distance
The thorn in the side of existance
One minute till midnight
will I kiss or is it too late?
can we make sure we did right?
Or can we start with a clean slate?
Same time next year
We'll kiss again
Same time next year
the world's not gonna end
Same time next year
Can we take back what we've missed
Same time next year
No need for a bucket list
Do you think you can achieve
all the things you put your heart to?
Is the world just evil?
We'll never know when we're due
Do you strike a match?
it won't burn, when you're not near
Can we bury the hatchet
and meet same time next year
Same time next year
Let's take back that night
Same time next year
12 months to make it right
Same time next year
Things never mattered this much
Same time next year
let us make time our crutch
Same time next year
